Finally got the Status Lights working correctly. I was having problems getting the correct Red/Green LEDs to flash correctly.
I had purchased a number of pre-made 16 pin ribbon cables. Looking at them closely, I noticed the ends were oriented differently – notch side was 180 degrees out from some of the others. Also found one shorted cable. I made up my own ribbon cable and the problem went away.
So lesson learned – if you order pre-made ribbon cables, be sure to check the connectors to make sure they are all oriented the same. Probably not a bad idea to ring out those cables if they are being installed in a tight location.
So I cycled through all of the Status Lights. All Red/Green pairs are alternating correctly.
